What is a Board Room?
The board room is the area that’s reserved for a company’s most important meetings. The room can accommodate up to 48 persons (24 at the table, and 24 around the wall perimeter). This space is a reflection of K-State Olathe’s determination to meet the needs of business executives in executive meeting space and research as well as training. The room is a more formal decor and basic audiovisual equipment.
The word “board” brings to mind deep wood paneled high ceiling rooms where wealthy men are deliberating on corporate policy and pricing in order to dominate a market or an opportunity. Today, however, the boardroom is now a central hub of innovation, allowing more collaboration and participation across the globe to make important decisions that impact the entire organization.
The design of the room must be capable of adapting to usage. The room should also be fitted with the most recent technology to ensure meetings are as productive as possible. The environment of the boardroom must be welcoming and comfortable in order to encourage engagement and facilitate ideas exchange.
A boardroom needs to have an adequate screen to accommodate all guests. A boardroom needs an ample screen to accommodate everyone in attendance, as well as the ability to project whiteboards and presentations. Some modern boardrooms also include a video conference software which allows remote participants to be connected and allows for greater diversity on the boardroom.
